Morning! Just wanted to pop my head in and hi. Just started shooting about a year ago. Bought my first gun (Glock 19) for home defense due to the eclectic nature of some new neighbors. Discovered the various practical shooting options a few months ago and have been hooked since.
Can't wait to see what I can learn from you guys!

Life has kept me from digging in as much as I would like so far, but I make it out there when I can... though I may be moving more south soon so I'll have to keep an eye open for convenient options (looking somewhere between Puyallup and Olympia)

Easy... Puyallup you have Tacoma Sportsmens Club and down by Olympia is Evergreen Sportsmens Club.
It's a good time to learn shooting... easy to find Ammo and guns. Stock up when you can and take a few lessons.
What did you want to jump into? For pistols - Action shooting? IDPA, USPSA? Steel shoots...
Lots to choose from. Sometimes you just don't know what you don't know. Just remember we all started out newbie but we have a good group here that likes to share the knowledge.
Give us an idea of where you are on your shooting journey and where you want to go and/or become and there's someone here that can help.
Now you will need a few more handguns, at least one shotgun and maybe one or two or more rifles too.

So far I've shot a few IDPA/ASI matches. Really want to try the Steel Shoots but somehow always end up otherwise occupied. As soon as we get settled I'm definitely going to try my hand at some PCC matches as well.
Recently also picked up a 995TS to play with. Using it as my experimental rig to find out what I like as far as setup, optics etc. Getting as much of the cheapest add-ons (reflex, red-dot, flip up backups, various sling types... etc) so I can figure out what works for me before spending money on quality and building up the eventual and mandatory AR.
Learning to hunt is also high up on the list. Flip-flopping on where to start. Small game (rabbit mostly - wide season) or turkey (mmmm... turkey). Have taken online portion of Hunter Ed already, just finding time for field eval now.
