Hello I am relatively new to WA (About 2 years now). Looking to learn about good places to shoot and a good message board for discussions on 2nd amendment
I have Windham 5.56 - CA RAS47 AK - S&W MP10 - Sig p226.
I learned about Plantation Range recently and am going to check it out next week

Welcome sir, from a native born and raised Everett member. Sounds like you have a decent collection to get you started out at the range.
I'd never heard of Plantation before?

thanks for the welcome. Plantation is up near Bellingham - http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/1931/Plantation-Rifle-Range I'm up in this area weekly for work otherwise would be too far a drive for most I'd assume

Welcome to WaGuns, Anthony! What are your thoughts on the RAS47 and the M&P10? I don't have either one, but I've heard good things about them.

Thanks Madpick for the welcome
of course first: if you have the money buy the guns! Democrats are getting cocky...
AK shoots like a dream heavier and louder than the 5.56 and its fun to use the "other side" weapon
MP10 is a real beauty. having glass on it its really fun for long range. I'd love to one day go take down game with it but I know nothing of hunting

If you are in Everett, there are three ranges within less than 30-minutes. Kenmore Range, Everett Sportsman, and Seattle Rifle & Pistol. Plantation is nice but its a long drive.
Welcome and see you at the range sometime.
Edit: Forgot about West Coast Armory North

First off, Welcome.
I live just North of Everett in Marysville. I used to drive to the Plantation range because I wanted a 300 yard range that didn't require membership.
Everett Sportsman is only open a couple days per week and limited to 100 yards (as well as under water half the year).
Plantation runs a "continuously hot" range. The range personnel put up targets before they open and you pay for the number you think you'll shoot at. No ceasefires to pull targets, you have to mark your own little mini-target based on what you can see (spotting scope almost a necessity). Only cease fire is when they don't have enough targets up that don't have any holes in them so new shooters can have one of their own. Nice range but if you like to measure your groups, not so good.
I finally joined Kenmore. A 20-30 minute drive for me. Members can have access to the range during daylight hours and the range is only closed three days per year (Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter, I believe). Pay your dues, buy a key, and you can shoot from 9:00 AM with public shooters not allowed until noon weekdays. Makes for some nice enjoyable shooting sessions as only serious shooters are there during member hours.

I'll add a little bit of my kenmore experience, one of the ranges is entirely members only (and competitions/events so schedule around those), and that range also goes out to 300yd. On that side, you and fellow members are the range masters so you can broker a cease fire any time to adjust a chronograph or if you just want to leave and get your target. There's a little store on site to buy ammo and cleaning supplies and targets etc. staff is nice and friendly, it's a clean facility, and they take no guff from patrons who aren't abiding by the rules. It's a good place and I recommend it for precision shooting.

Also, the restrooms are heated and have real "flush toilets". No Port-A-Potties.

Don't forget about Seattle Rifle (In Lake Stevens/Machais) or Marysville Rifle as other alternatives. They are both WAY closer than plantation. Though they are also membership required clubs.
