Hi there! My name “Frank Drebin” is appropriated from the character played by Leslie Nielsen of the Police Squad television series (1982) & of course the Naked Gun movies. I live in southeastern PA only a stone throw from Lancaster.

I was born and raised in New Jersey less than an hour from NYC. Back then guns were no big deal. It was common for kids to bring their guns to school and leaving them next to the coat rack in the back of the classroom. At the end of the school day they would head off to the clay pits or the swamp to shoot or hunt.

How things have changed over the years.

Sorry... back on topic.

The extent of my experience is mostly military where I spent 1970-1976 in the US Army Lightning 78th Reserve unit based in Edison, NJ. I qualified with the M1 and M16 military rifles. The M1 was still in service in 1970. It had a nice kick to it. Try holding that one on your chin and firing it. LOL

I belong to a few forums. PAFOA (PA Firearms Owners Association), and Defensive Carry forums which I post occasionally. I own three handguns, all Argentinian Bersa pistols. Thunder 380CC and 22, and a Thunder UC 9mm. I almost always carry unless I go out of state. I also own a Remington Nylon 66 which I inherited almost 30 years ago.

I got my “License to Carry Firearm” (LTCF) for Pennsylvania within the past year. Since Pennsylvania and Washington do not have a reciprocity agreement the hope carrying while visiting family in the Seattle area this July seem slim... this year anyway.

My other interests include hiking, photography, Linux, pyrotechnics... and of course my grandkids. Not in that order.

I am retired from Unisys, and Sunoco Chemicals.

Thanks for listening.

Hiyo, Frank. For a guy born on the wrong side of the MDL you seem like a nice guy! Thank you for your service to our country :patriot:
Some of the guys here will be having a BBQ and shoot around the fourth, maybe you can make it!

Lots of Garand fans on the board.

Glad you chimed in.

Welcome to the forum. I love the Drebin character and the Naked Gun films.

Please visit WA!

Please get your Utah non-resident Carry Permit. It's cheap and easy. WA recognizes it.

A Utah permit will also likely give you a handful additional states, but you'll have to figure that out on your own. :thumbsup2:

Looks like Utah gives you 36 states, and probably some PA doesn't give you (WA for starters).

Contact UT tomorrow, and see if they can expedite it at a higher fee if it's important to you.

You can certainly find an instructor in your area willing to teach the class tomorrow for the right price.

Money always moves mountains.

Walcome to WaGuns, "Frank"! :wavey:

Thank you for your Army service.

A Bersa fan . . . paging Doc Nugent. You two would get along just fine.

And a big "HELL YEAH" for the Garand! I have two of them, and they are fantastic rifles. Check out Corpsman's long tribute to the Garand: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=25835

Welcome to our site!

Welcome from a Fellow NJ escape. Raised in Somerset and Mercer County's. Spent quite a bit of time in Buck's County PA as well.

Not sure what the pyro laws are in PA, but here in WA we tend to express our July 4th pride loudly.

I met a Point Pleasant, NJ refugee in Freemont of all places when I made the comment that the blueberries were from Oregon and not Hammonton. I was raised in Cliffwood Beach on the Raritan Bay. As a reference there was a realty company on Rt. 35 that occupied a Pirate Ship.

As far as fireworks is concerned in PA the law is ignored on the 4th and New Years. You can purchase the Class C stuff instate if you belong to a pyro club, but only during a club event. Otherwise you need to go across the state line or mail order your fireworks.

In order to use Class B fireworks professionally the ATF must do an investigation and issue you a certificate. I shoot - fireworks that is - under the license of a fireworks company with my ATF certificate. I worked at a refinery on the Delaware in Marcus Hook and had to get a "Transportation Workers Identification Credential" (TWIC card) which means I was also investigated by the TSA.

I can't count the times I been investigated. As a side note all airport personnel working inside the safety zone is required to have a TWIC card. You'd think with a TWIC card I could go pre-check when flying but the TSA doesn't recognize their own card. Go figure.

Hey, welcome to WAGuns!

I'm originally from Pittsburgh and lived in Philly for a while too! Just recently got my LTCF renewed in December.
