Hi all,

As the title says, I'm currently in Texas. The wife and I are moving to Washington in 2 weeks. I grew up an Army brat but my mom was born and raised in Tacoma and I lived there as a child while my dad was serving in Viet Nam. So I guess this is a sort of a homecoming for me.

The wife and I both love to shoot...I know that's a shock since I signed up here :whatthe: Steel/Rimfire Challenge is our first love but we're getting kitted up to start shooting smallbore silhouette after we settle in. Luckily Machias is close to Kirkland where we'll be renting until we can find a house to buy.

Cheers,
John

Thanks, y'all. Yes, the people here are very friendly. The weather...not so much.

Welcome to WaGuns, John! :wavey:

Kirkland is a nice city; I lived there for a number of years, and still own a house there.

Howdy, welcome. Where you from down in Texas? The wife and I just moved up from North Houston area about 5 years ago. Kirkland is a nice area.

Thanks, guys.

penutbuter - We live between Ponder and Justin in a small town named Dish (9 miles north of Texas Motor Speedway). I think we'll enjoy the change of scenery in Washington. We've only been here two years (after 16 in Colorado) but I've already had enough heat, hail and tornadoes to last me a lifetime (one tornado touched down 3 miles from me two weeks after I moved here). Although I have to admit, I think I'm going to miss the winters here. I don't think I put a coat on but twice in the last two years.

I work from home but my wife will be working for the gubmint in Seattle so it'll be fun finding a house. I know I won't find what we have here (brandy new house on an acre in the country for $200K) but I'm ready for that. Colorado's real estate market is a lot like Seattle's so Seattle will be more like what I'm used to....not that I like it of course :)
