Hey all. I got started with marksmanship a few years back when I caught the black rifle bug. Just moved up here a couple months ago and have a membership over at Interlake now. What do I need to know about being a gun owner in Washington? What's fun to do around here?

Shooting and hunting is pretty fun. Lots of places to do that. Just click on the map just below the page header.

How did you find the site?

Some of us go to West Coast Armory often. It is a good indoor range. There are some other outdoor clubs in the area. I personnally believe Cascade is a great local place.

Taking anti depressants.

Drinking, and passing out while watching the rain come down.

Trying to feel warm and dry November through April.

Reloading.

Being able to take a good dump.

Drinking.

Oh, and Wa Guns.

That is all.

Actually, lots more - fooled ya !

Welcome to Wa Guns.

Welcome!

I was stationed near Austin. Went there a "few times" from Fort Hood (Killeen, TX).

So it depends on what type of shooter YOU are... long distance, tactical, sniper...
What type/caliber of "black rifle"?

What brings you here to this area?

I have two fond memories of the years I spent in El Paso, Texas...

The cheesburgers in the base bowling alley, and leaving.

(That's where I found out I was alergic to tumbleweed and sage...)

Welcome to the funny farm...

That's not entirely true... Pigs in a blanket from Wykels out in LaGrange, Guadaljara in Bastrop, Alamo drafthouse, Taco Cabana... those are the only things I miss :)

Welcome!

Let's see...I've been wanting to get into long distance shooting, but just can't seem to find a range that goes beyond 300 yards. So that's disappointing.

As far as what sorts of rifles I have, that might give you a better idea. I've build a 24" .223 Wylde AR-15, a 16" .300 AAC Blackout AR-15, and next in line there is a 6.8 SPC rifle that I'm hoping to keep as lightweight as possible. I also have a Ruger Gunsite Scout (.308 with long eye relief) and a CZ-75 SP01 (9mm).

For longer range...

Cascade Rifle in Ravensdale is a member only range that has a rifle range 600yards (only problem is membership is FULL).
Paul Bunyon off Canyon Road in Puyallup does 600 on certain days... again a member only range but membership is open.

If you truly want a 1000yard range.. you'll have to drive clear across the state to the Tri-Cities area

The other outdoor range will be 100-300 yards.

There are a couple of indoor ranges you can shoot your rifle too but you will have to pay their membership level for it.

Welcome to the wagon!

What's the difference between a anyone else, and a texan?

Anyone else will just walk up and stick it in.

But the texan just sticks it in and walks up.

Least that's what I was told when I lived in Tyler Texas for a couple years. :ROFLMAO:
