Can anyone modify my glock 17 to take 19 magazines or does anyone know of anywhere that does this near Olympia?

I have my reasons but TL;DR:
I don't want to sell my 17 (love it), but I want to CCW it, and the 17's just a tad too long. I feel like a 19 would be perfect, but I don't want to purchase another gun as I'm probably already picking up a 26.

Thanks!

These guys will do it:
FRAME SHORTEN (17 TO 19, 22 TO 23, ETC) + FULL SERVICE AS LISTED ABOVE – $250

That said, by the time you pay for the work and ship it both ways you can find a nice used 19 and have two guns...

We're talking a $500 pistol and 2 rounds difference. It doesn't make sense to me to pay to have a 17 custom made into a 19.

I think it would be way more economical to sell the 17, and buy a 19, as opposed to custom chopping a 17.

Yep, what he said.

Whoa.

I was thinking the cost was going to be around 100

I guess my thinking was that the 26 was a guaranteed buy. I might as well cut down on the number of firearms to buy so I can have two rather than 3 glocks. But you're all right. In that case it's worth just waiting for a used glock to pop up.

Thanks for pointing that out though Isildur!

This one's super sweet. If I didn't fear that my wife would divorce me, I'd buy it myself. (I've bought a lot of guns over the last 3 months or so).

My opinion is the 19 is a compromise between the 17 & 26. If you are buying a 26 for sure, and already have a 17, it makes no sense to cut down the 17 to take 19 mags when you can just carry the 26 and if you want more capacity put 19 or 17 mags in the 26. No modifications needed.

This, just get the 26 and some 19 mags, throw xgrips on the 19 mags and you are g2g. Did basically the same thing with my compact M&P.

I don't know why, but I never thought of a 26 + 19 mags with some sort of grip extension...

Thanks everyone!

Yep. The 19 is the choice if you're only going to own only one. You can always get a longer barrel for less than $200. I went the other direction, I have a 34 and a 26.
