Looking for a local Smith who can do a trigger job on my Browning BAR 270 mk1. I'd like the trigger lightened up to about 3-3.5 lbs. Any suggestions?

Talk to Dana (dreadi) of Black Hammer Arms, he can probably do it for you.

I appreciate the references however, that's not a service I can provide.

I have not worked on a BAR trigger. Its similar to an AR in the sense that is has a hammer, disconnect, and sear, but I'm not sure if that's common with semi auto rifles. I did look into the trigger mechanism and I wouldn't feel comfortable tuning it. The only suggestion I would recommend is removing the trigger assembly cleaning it really well and putting some grease where the trigger meets the sear and seeing if that helps.
If you aren't comfortable doing that send me a PM.
Tom
