Stolen NFA item. Committed a crime with stolen NFA item. That is different than that case. That said, seems like the law should be further "enhanced". Now there is some common sense gun law.

The first two things you mention are illegal. Not registering an SBR as a felon apparently is not.

I never said that it makes sense, just that the precedence has been set.

The detective stated the ATF rarely gets involved with situations this low-profile. I jokingly told the detective that the criminals will probably do less time than what it took for me to get my Form1 approved. Detective agreed.

So much for using the laws/penalities we already have in place.

So, in another thread (https://waguns.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=86441), the topic of being in possession of both guns and marijuana came up, and it led me to do a search of federal law. I came across this lawyer's guide (http://www.chattanoogalaw.org/180.50/federal-gun-and-narcotic-laws) which mentions statute 18 U.S. Code § 924(c), which prescribes the penalties for crimes such as the one committed with your Hydra. My reading of the statute suggests that if the feds wanted to prosecute these perps to the fullest extent of the law, they would be looking at some serious time in a federal penitentiary - probably 7+ years at a minimum. If they get sentenced to anything less, it would be a serious miscarriage of justice. It would also reinforce my perception that our government is not serious about being tough on crime, and that the calls for passage of more laws to reduce crime are hollow, and frankly insulting.

Our criminal justice system is broken due to failure to enforce.

I would counter that our entire judicial system is broke for 2 reasons:
1. Too many laws on the books, overlapping and contradictory.
2. Activism in interpreting and choosing laws and prosecution.

I hope the thieves spend decades in there. I hate thieves.

For full disclosure these guys were not the ones that robbed my home. Those perps are still out on the street due to evidence but hopefully one of the perps that robbed the pot store rats them out.

Just got word that the Prosecutor is getting help from the ATF to get the sentencing enhanced due to the NFA item.

I recommended they use the SBR as a bargaining chip to oust out the two Silencers that are still missing.
