Please advise. I'm overwhelmed by the choices.

What OS is the best? I have an Iphone currently so assuming an Apple related OS would be easy for me to learn but certainly capable of navigating others. Will 16GB be enough storage for me or will I need more? What are you using? What would you recommend?

- Using for e-mail, surfing forums, maybe occasional pictures for posting.
- 9" or larger screen
- 16, 32...?? How much should I get?
- Some kind of port for external memory storage, USB, SD.
- Keyboard would be nice but not neceassary
- Idiot proof so I can navigate the OS fairly easily
- Wanting to spend about $200 (could spend more if I was convinced it was worth it).

Anybody have something still in good shape that they want to sell or trade for an AR pistol, Rifle or just parts??? Cash or ammo added either way to even the trade.

My coworker just bought a laptop for his daughter and the price was well in your range. I'll ask him about it tomorrow and get back to you.

Here's a link to the laptop I'd recommend (from my coworker's recommendation): HP EliteBook 8460P. If you bump it up to the maximum hard drive (1 TB), memory (8 GB), select Windows 10 Professional 64 bit, you'll have a nice computer that should last you for years and years for about $225. If you think you'll ever make your own CD/DVD discs (like if you wanted to preserve a bunch of photographs), add the DVD-RW option for another $5 and it's as fully kitted out as they offer for $230.

These are recent off-lease computers, which means they were used for a year or so, then traded in for whatever the latest version is.

Ping me if you've got any further questions.

I have an Asus Tramsformer Prime, With a docking station, 2 cases/covers. 32 gig storage and a micro SD slot.
It is in great shape...$125.
The docking station is also an extra battery.

I have a nexus 7 that I never use. Bought the larger 32 Gb version thinking I would use it a bunch. Turns out I just use my laptop all the time and it just sits. I will trade.

Damn Dave,

I was just looking at that HP link you sent. That looks like one hell of a deal too! I don't ever remember the portable computers being this affordable. Of course I've always had a desktop so I never really paid attention.

I'm reaching out to Dimwit right now but if that doesn't pan out I'll probably go the HP route.

I really appreciate all of the suggestions, input and offers, I knew putting this out on Waguns was a good idea. Thanks guys!

The only reservation I have with the Asus tablets is that compared to a recent laptop like the one linked above, they're much slower. If you're looking for speed, you want a more recent tablet or laptop, however, the Asus has a very nice graphics card, so it looks great, and the speed is fast enough that you may never notice the difference, especially if you have an older machine right now.

I haven't bought anything but laptops for some time now (my Mac Mini excluded), I used to build desktops back in the '90's & '00's, but tired of it, so when laptop prices started dropping, I started buying those instead (used, I don't think I've ever bought a new one, ever). I still tinker with them, add more memory or swap in an SSD drive, but building a machine from scratch I haven't done for a long time.

Picked up the Asus Transformer Prime from Dimwit. What a cool little device!! I'll probably be learning how to use it for the next few weeks.

Anyone know any little tips or tricks for it?

I'm having problems figuring out how to get my bookmarks bar to display in the Chrome browser.
