Need suggestions to make 1/2" round pipe non-slip

Nope after about 3-4 yr it flakes or peels, think I put on 5 layers. bedliner stuff would work but 100 a spray can. as kurt mention vet tape, $1 a roll

I've had good luck with these hexagonal stick on grip tape thingies. They make other shapes & sizes including grip tape for your pistols. The smaller ones will probably wrap nicely around your 1/2" pipe in a spiral pattern. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DD ... =UTF8&th=1

Oops. Looks like I didn't update.
So, in true Weenie fashion, I was overthinking things.
There's a natural grab handle on my truck that I didn't see/realize.
That being said, I made the handle anyway. I bought a spray can of rubber bedliner for $12. Sanded down the pipe to make sure it grabbed. Then got a 8oz box of sand texture for paint for $2..
I painted a layer of bedliner, sprinkled some sand on it, sprayed some more bedliner, sprinkled some sand on it, basically did half a dozen coats like that... and it's grippier than a MF, even soaking wet (tried it with wet hands).
