Any advice for fishing for these two species? I'll have a boat, but no trolling motor. So trolling is out. I can float with the wind though, but no current as I'll be on Lake Roosevelt.

No need for trolling when fishing for bass.
Just use a lure that is bigger than the bass you're fishing for. :ROFLMAO: icon_eek

Trolling with bottom bouncers normally works best for walleye. You can jig for them, but it's harder because you can't cover as much ground. If you find a shallow spot holding walleye you can throw a 3" stick bait that has perch colors. I used to tournament fish for walleye on Moses, potholes and banks lake. I fished Roosevelt once. Didn't find any great spots to tell you about.

Thanks for the info.
What's a bottom bouncer look like?

snoz go ask you local fishing store your gonna hit. they should be able to tell you what and how to rig your stuff too.

I left my bass gear with my buddy but its just a long offset hook and use a fake work and jig as you reel it in. near weeds, logs decks. you want the offset hook

thats the walley set up your main line at the top loop.

I usually go to Outdoor Emporium in Seattle as I'm not sure where else to go.

Is that offset hook stuck into the worm...dare I say...backwards? Craziest thing I've ever seen. For bass in the weeds?

I've got two of those giant things at the bottom. Are they bottom bouncers? You troll with them is my understanding. Setup a wedding ring etc behind them like I see in the photo.

sportsco is a good place down here, bass pro, i forget the place in auburn

i just notice again not trolling, yes that was a bottom bouncer used on the columbia in tricities and a few other spots. yes its similar to the wedding ringers

jigs roadrunners fuzzegrubs and spinner minnows, twistertail with a worm, bright colors usually white. try to resemble a perch if your gonna be on a lake use a 6lbs line you should be good

yes that was for bass and you'll be surprised it doesn't get stuck in weeds.

dude wtf. I'm not down on the language.

jigs: Looks like a fish? Or looks like a weighted head with skirt?

roadrunners: never seen this before. spinner, weighted head, skirt? Put the fake rubber worm/spinnertail on it?

fuzzegrubs:

spinner minnows: fish with hooks? how does this compare to Jigs above?
Image

twistertail: roostertail? Or these fake rubber worms?

Go to Banks Lake. Pretty hard not to catch something there.
