I ran into a guy at the LGS and he was in contact with state Fish and Wildlife officers and the hog hunt by professional hunters supposedly was like a drop in the bucket at getting the feral hogs eradicated. Supposedly there are places around Moses Lake that house plenty of hogs to shoot.

The helicopter hunting just did not work as to many hogs made it into tree areas and then thsy could not be spotted.

Has anyone else heard anything else about the hog situation?

I haven't heard squat since i posted this http://www.waguns.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=71441 awhile back. I'm not surprised to hear the high tech, high buck approach didn't go so well.

You don't happen to know any property owners that want a little help with eradication?

Some of these hog hunting stories from down south are making me consider relocating to warmer climes for retirement.

Fish and Game has shut down the infested areas to hunting.

For whatever reason, they are NOT allowing the public to go in there and shoot them. Fish and Game employee's only.

When I first read about it, I wanted to load up and go..... Until I finished whatever it was I was reading.

This needs to be fixed NOW, before it gets worse.

I want to shoot some pigs. My smoker is hungry for wild pork.

Sounds like the WDFW, they treat hunters like a necessary evil.

There's a chance they have their "contract hunters" in the area and don't want them shot by a bunch of "hog wild hunters".

I have little doubt they're paying someone way too much money to do something ineffective as we speak. And writing the grants for controlling a wider hog problem at the same time.

Wouldn't that be more properly be called "Pig Pushing". That's what it was called in Germany when Special Services had a dance with a lot of "Plump" local girls attending.

can't we petition a .gov appointee to help us open it up so we can hunt them? I wonder what the process would be to start something like that?

I had some friends back in the day that were very successful at hog hunting. Endless supply of hogs at just about any Seattle bar. They would catch their limit just about every night.
