What's a good all-around load for hunting both ducks and geese. I'm thinking 3" #4 steel shot. What are your thoughts?

With Black Cloud steel I use #3 for ducks over decoys and B shot for geese. You need to shoot it at a piece of paper and see how it patterns out of your guns choke. Black Cloud uses a FLITECONTROL wad that doesn't work well in all chokes. I have 2 chokes made especially for Black Cloud shot in long range and medium range. I change them for ducks depending on how close they are coming in. For geese always the long range choke. Heavy Shot is also good. I go down to #4 for ducks and #2 for geese.

I have used #1 Kent 3" steel for years. Never had any issues. When I am going solely for geese, I'll pack either hevi-shot or other tungsten/bismuth shells in #2.
