Ok, it's official, it's on.. It's going to happen.

When: 06.20.2015 from 9am until... done
Where: Lower Triangle Pit/Quarry @ Capitol Forest Olympia
Why: DNR is getting tired of people using shooting pits as refuse dumps. We, being responsible shooters, are at risk of loosing these public areas for shooting because of the carelessness of others. We at WaGuns have been asked by DNR to come help out, to keep these areas open.

This will be a clean-n-shoot event! We will spend the first part of the day cleaning up the trash and debris, then we will shoot, share, and maybe even eat!

All are invited to attend. Husbands, wives, kids, boyfriends, girlfriends, mistresses and even Talons...

Location of the event:
Olympia, WA
Lat: 46°56'36.99"N
Lon:123° 4'19.28"W
Google Maps Location

We are working with DNR to open the gates for us so we can drive right in and park where we clean, which will be a bonus!

We are also working at getting some yard signs made up to leave when we are done;
Image

*** Driving Directions ***
1) I5 - HWY 101 North
2) Take Black Lake Blvd Exit off of 101
3) Turn LEFT on Black Lake Blvd
4) Follow until the road ends at Delphi (about 4 miles)
5) Take RIGHT on Delphi
6) Go about 2 miles, take RIGHT on Waddell Creek Road
7) Go about 3 miles and look for the "Entering Capitol Forest" Sign, shortly after that, take a LEFT to stay on Waddell Creek Road
8) The Pit location is 300 yards down the road, on the LEFT

I am planning on getting there early, to get the gate open etc. Depending on help with me, I'll see if I can get a banner hung at the entrance.

I'll be there. And sorry to say it but the riff raff that trashes the pits will most likely use these to further trash it.

Finally a clean-up at a location close to me, and one that I use. Unfortunately I will be in Yellowstone till the 27th. I will try to post this info on other site to get the word out.

Yhea, we are aware that these will probably be targets. We are going to ZIP tie a few of them to the yellow gate, and maybe hand a couple more on the rear tree(s). In our minds, if it makes just a couple people think twice and care, it's worth the $$.

Like the Sign. Should use them for all these cleanups!

Hate to say it but the idiots who trash the place will probably continue to do so but if even a few get more responsible that will be an improvement.
Thanks for organizing. Can't be there but will be thinking ab out you guys!

DNR will provide bags. Kick ass bags. A can can't hurt to help collect and dump.

We will be making extra signs for future cleanups!

Shit, didn't read the other thread all the way. Saw upper honey hole. Way safer.

I have to ask, will the pit be closed for business with an active blockade? Honestly wouldn't be surprised to hear about someone cleaning with bullets whizzing overhead at that pit...

The pit will be closed for shooting until we are done cleaning.

There will be enough of us there to "control" the range if anybody thinks of changing the statement above.

I will attend with my wife. We will bring trash bags and a pickup. The signs are a great idea, hopefully it will make a difference.
