I took a leap on Prime Day, and bought the Instant Pot Duo Crisp, the 8-quart with the air fryer lid. So do I post in this thread, or the Instant Pot thread?
Seriously though, this will be fun to play around with. I'm not 100% convinced that the air fryer will be a big part of my life just yet, like the Instant Pot pressure cooker has been, but it will be fun to mess around with and make snacks.
Like the roasted potato wedges that are in there right now . . . .
All right . . . a snack was needed tonight. You know, "needed." So potato wedges.
Medium-sized golden potatoes, cut up, sprayed with avocado oil, tossed with Johnny's salt, garlic powder and some Greek rub. Cooked in the Instant Pot Duo Crisp air fryer for about 24 minutes total at 400 degrees, tossed and turned a few times.
Served with barbecue sauce on the side for me, and ketchup for her.
Air fryers are the best thing to happen to cooking recently. Being able to cook and properly crisp food without oil is a game changer. We might need to order another before our super bowl party this year
We've got the Pampered Chef Deluxe Air Fryer. This thing has a learning curve to it.
Fried foods seems to require EVO spray for best results. I baked a pork tenderloin and sausage and turned out very good. Steak, not so much. The bake setting heats up super fast and less time than our oven.

I bought a bunch of tuna loins from Fungunnin recently . . . well, who am I kidding, for some reason the vacuum-sealed packages say "2015" on them. I ate a bunch of it back then and it was primo, but I got a litte burned out and the rest has been sitting in my freezer and now I'm trying to use it up.
So today I took a couple of pounds, partially thawed it, cut it into sticks and then created "Tunahenge" so it would thaw faster:
Then seasoned the sticks, rolled them in flour, and put them back into the freezer on parchment paper. When it was dinner time, I rolled them in an egg wash, then some expired panko bread crumbs from the back of the cupboard, with some smoked paprika, cumin and a couple of other things added.
Add some cheap shredded coleslaw mix, some cilantro, a squeeze bottle of sauce and a little lime juice, and voila:
I think this may be the first time I've ever made fish tacos . . . and omg, they were good! The tuna was cooked all the way through (contrary to my expectations), but it was really good and I'm totally happy with the way it turned out. It was crunchy on the outside and delicious on the inside.
But then I had all of that egg wash and breading left over . . . hmmm. And string cheese in the fridge. What a dilemma!
I double-breaded the mozzarella sticks to try to keep them from oozing everywhere, and I was mostly successful. The taste was good, but not great. I think a different/better breading would help, I might have to try again.
Let me try another one on ya . . . the Evo oil sprayer. Here it is at QVC, which is where I found the best deal. Note that if you're a first-time customer you can use coupon "offer" for $10 off.
I bought this, and I have olive oil and avocado oil "locked and loaded" and ready to go. I've only used it a little, but so far I'm pretty impressed, it puts out a nice fine spray and seems to work really well, way better than oil sprayers I've had in the past.

I got this one...Cosori...it was on a few ‘Best Of’ lists, and has a ton of good reviews...I got in white, though, in case it gets left on the counter...
As far as oil sprayers, like you, they all clogged quickly.
Are those glass or plastic? How long have you had them?
Nice. I like the versatility of my Instant Pot with air fryer lid, but I can see that a dedicated air fryer would be bigger and probably easier to use and clean.
The sprayers are plastic, and I’ve only had them about a week and used them a couple of times. So they’re still new to me, but I read a number of good reviews so hopefully they’ll work out....

Those fish tacos look delicious! Got some pubes on your wrist though...
