Production is somewhat down... Could be because I thought the single frost that we've had so far must've killed them, so I stopped watering them.
Well, this morning I watered because they are still alive.

Yes it is Unistrut. No, I do not think it is a fetish.
"Cherokee Purple"... It didn't have heavy production, but they are tasty.
Image
This is a "Yellow Pear"... Inventive naming, eh?
Image
"Celebrity"... :facepalm2: Very tasty, but aged the fastest.

Still a few on there, probably going to pick them today and pull the plug on "Celebrity."

"Large Red Cherry"... Someone in the plant naming department probably received a bonus for thinking that one up.
Most productive, tastiest... All this summer I have walked by and picked a few to munch upon while doing my chores, and there were still plenty left over for fresh at meals and to add to cooked dishes.

These are hanging on the south side of my workshop. The hangers are about 8' to 9' off the ground. The wooden square boxes are about 10 years old, but sadly the plastic buckets work a bit better.
I'm planning next year's garden already.

Jealous. We didn't plant any tomatoes this year and I miss them.

The taste of home grown 'maters takes me back to when we'd carry around a salt shaker in our pockets and try not to get a load of rock salt in our butts for stealing and eating them. As an adult, I realize that they were probably aiming over our heads, but as kids we thought they were trying to kill us.

Picked these last night because I was expecting a frost this morning...

The frost didn't happen, so the couple of pounds still on the plants may have a chance to ripen a tad more. We've never had tomatoes still producing this late. Not even close.

This is crazy. My cherry tomato has produced about a dozen new tomatoes since my last post. Something is still pollinating near the end of November! They're green still, but went from flowers to about 1" diameter.

The Liberty tomato has 3 big tomatoes hanging in there... Can't imagine how they are going to ripen now, but the plant is healthy.
The Yellow Pear tomato plant also has new fruit, and 3 of them ripened to yellow.

I saw that you replied, and I was thinking "Maybe Rick knows about what critter would pollinate at this time of year!"
:cussing: Seriously, I thought that. You chowderheaded goofball. :cheers2:

1 December, 2017. My tomatoes have new flowers, have not been killed by frost yet.
All but one of the plants are showing stress from the prolonged cool temperatures, but none have died yet.

^ That's what I thought about the ones that showed up in mid to late November. Something pollinated them.

You hired Fjord for a little late night pollination? Good on you, he needed a job and seemed to need to relieve some stress.
