Finally had some real downtime to get what I really wanted. Had some Joe's Crab Shack and other good food...but nothing like this. Wife saw this place on Food Destinations Dallas area. Man is it good! They have lean to after lean to of different woods for their smoking. We got the Beef Shin. We needed another 4+ people to finish it. If you ever get down here...try it! The leftovers of just the meat was a whole container! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

That place is amazing. If you're still down there try out the Railhead smokehouse if you can. It was awesome as well.

Thanks Dan will try that out next time up in Ft Worth area, looks amazing There's also a great guide to BBQ joints in the Lone Star State at Texas Monthly, well worth a read: https://www.texasmonthly.com/bbq-home/https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/the-list-the-top-50-barbecue-joints-in-texas/Great BBQ to be found all over Central and South Central Texas. Give me a shout if you're in the Austin area and I can let you know some great locations off the beaten path. Safe travels and enjoy your trip.

Agreed on the Ranch House. Great BBQ. There's also Dickerson's in downtown Olympia off Legion Way. I always thought that was good Q and cool atmosphere too.
Central Texas the BBQ is all about the beef. Beef Ribs and Brisket particularly. You can find good pulled pork here though that is usually more of a flavor of BBQ found in East Texas through to the Deep South and also in Kansas City BBQ.
