Quick question to all. Why do the stores, and a lot of people consider grilling/smoking and supplies a seasonal thing? Even if I have to use a shovel to find my grill, it's grilling time.

There was no option for 'Whenever the Voices Tell Me To' so I opted for the year round choice

Seriously though I used to grill year round in Lacey and Lakewood. Why let a little drizzle put you off your game? Used to BBQ in the snow in California mountains when I lived there. Though that introduces the complication of the smoke-infused fleece jacket  As long as it's not raining or snowing so hard it puts out your fire, game on.

In the new digs the best grilling weather is in the late Fall to early Spring. Summer is already like 100+ degrees with high humidity and when you add the smoke and heat it's is just a touch warm outside. Still BBQ in the summer though it's often in the morning or for lunch instead of the peak heat of the day.

Year round griller here. I have an old patio umbrella I set up over the "Q" on inclement weather days.

I will say that weather and ambient temperature does impact the performance and outcome of the grilled product so adjustments must be anticipated and made for grilling duration and other factors.

I grill all year long. Nothing like a bbq steak in the winter when my power is out. I keep my bbq in my shop and just open up the rollup doors.

Time of year won't stop me, though i am more motivated to fire up the Smoker when the weather is good.
Big difference between grilling and smoking though,

This is why I'm a summertime griller. It never comes out right for me when it's raining or too cold so I don't even bother anymore. Plus there's not enough coverage from my eaves to cover my BBQ let alone me.

Rain. Plain and simple.

I need to build either a permanent or temporary shelter on at least part of my deck so I can grill under it during our 9 shitty months... lol

We barbecue/smoke/grill year round.

If there's snow, rain, or a breeze, I block whatever I'm using with the house or a plywood contraption with hinges.

1/2 our deck is covered, so if it's inclement weather, at least I'm under cover.... :thumbsup2:

We only 'tell' people we're grilling, when it's nice out, though  (but good friends know...)

I'm a year round smoker and griller.

I currently have both my smokers on the covered front porch (wife loves that, sigh) and my propane BBQ on the back deck, uncovered.

I've found, since getting grill grates for the RecTec, that I never use the BBQ anymore.

This summer I'll be building a cover I've part of the back deck that will house both smokers, the BBQ and a small work area. That'll get the wife off my back.

I was waiting for someone to mention turkey.
Why is that ONLY cooked at Thanksgiving time?
I stuffed one in the weber a few years ago for my birthday in June.
An hour later it looked like it had been sitting next to an ants nest for a week.
