I get down hardcore with ramen, no not the crap in the cup or the 10 for a buck stuff. I like mine from SE asia and down in Indonesia and Malaysia. My favorite brand is mama, they have a solid duck flavored one, green curry, and Thai soups like Tom yum and others that I don't know the name of. The noodles arnt like the bigger spongy top ramen noodles, cook them shorter than the time they call for and they have a good texture to them. I have a bunch of ziplocs in the freezer with meat and veggies ready to throw in the hot water, I have them broken down to specific ramen's. Tonight for example I'm doing Japanese ramen using Nissan tonkontsu ramen with pork , corn, onion, mushroom and a 5 minute soft boiled eggs and topped with Bonito and green onion with a drizzle of sesame oil. So am I the only one with a love for good ramen?

Rita (who's Malaysian) says you have good taste in ramen. MAMA is her favorite. We do done-up ramen at least once a week, I like deli meat in mine, with fresh mushrooms, green onions, a cracked egg, cabbage (surprisingly good), sun dried tomatoes, sprinkle with schichimi togarashi, douse with Crystal sauce, some rice vinegar & soy sauce. Sesame oil is always good, but you have to use it in moderation as it'll quickly overwhelm all other tastes in there.

Have you tried the Ramen from Costco in the freezer section?

I have ramen at least once a week. Look around at G and H Mart for something that looks interesting.
Usually add large shrimp or squid, and whatever suitable vegetables I happen to have.

Held back 1/3 of the spicy flavor pack, added fish sauce, shrimp, onions, and mushrooms. Had that with a slightly seared Ahi tuna steak for lunch.

I like this the best: http://www.kizuki.com/Although when my wife takes the time to make the broth and noodles, you really never want to eat the packaged crap. Shin is edible when you are cold and tired and no want to cook.

Shin Ramyun with assorted peppers and a handful of 21-25 shrimp. Preferred a bowel, but the kids didn't have the dishes done.

Even the cheap stuff can be edible. Just boil it, drain it, and throw it in the Wok with your favorite stir fry.
Just got some great, fresh caught shrimp, that will get cozy with some ramen in the Wok along with whatever else I feel like stirring in.
Forget the "flavor packet". False advertising, there's no flavor involved.
