So this is my favorite little food shop, I've been going there for a few years. First off is the bakery. There are 2 parts, the bread and pretzels are in the store and the sweets are across the lobby. The pretzels and housemade mustard(more on that later) are always mandatory for me. ALWAYS. I usually get a loaf of their French bread for sandwiches, it has a thin crust that has a good chew to it and the inside is so soft you can check it with your tongue. It doesn't have preservatives so it does go stale rather quick. It's around 2 bucks a loaf so I find it to be a great deal. They also have a few brown breads like pumpernickel and rye, but I've never tried them as I'm not a fan of breads like that.
Then there is the sweets in the cafe. There are strussels, bee stings and cakes. The bee stings are light and airy. The cakes are expensive but they have a ton going on in them, some are 7 layers. Yoy can get them by the slice too which is really nice. They have a green marscapone covered cake that is my favorite cake I've ever had, seriously is so legit MadPick probably already knows bout it. If my wife doesn't make her carrot cake for my birthday she gets me a whole cake and we kill it in a couple of days. They have other German cakes that look bomb ass hell but haven't tried them.
The mustard they make is unlike any mustard I've had its a little sweet and a little hot. It is really well rounded. I've made some really good salads using it in a vinegretre.
God this is getting long winded....
Good selection of pickles, candy, mustards, sauce/gravy packets.
The deli has good sasuage, lunch meats and cheeses. They have some good stuff like head cheese and blood sasuage. Alot of stuff not in the supermarket.
Good beer selection too.
Seriously if you live around Lakewood and haven't been there, you really are doing yourself a huge disservice. Check it oit.

I went there today based on you initial review MRC. The pretzel mustard combo is really good. We had some sandwiches made and the mixed meat the lady put on it was killer, of course with more mustard. Picked up a beer I have had a million times but love, some good Havarti, a bit of their potato salad and a loaf of the sourdough. Everything is very good and I will be back!
