Public service announcement:
Had dinner with the family at Trotters in Auburn last night. Wanted some sort of "comfort food" so I ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Wife teases me about my old man meal and warns me that I'll regret it. I ate maybe half of it. Couple glasses of water, couple cups of coffee. A beer when I got home.
I have now been up since midnight, violently vomiting every half an hour. Around 4:00 the shits kicked in. There's nothing quite like sitting on the toilet dry heaving into a bowl while exploding in a southbound direction. Add in the severe chills and muscle cramps and I'm pretty sure it's been the worst night of my life.
I ate absolutely nowhere else yesterday so it had to be the trotters that gave me the trots. I'll never eat there again!

Call the health department. They probably make up a big batch of meatloaf all at once, could still have some lying around waiting for the next victim. http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservice ... lness.aspx

Thanks for the link. This kind of thing could kill an old person with medical conditions. Which is most of their customer base.

Same thing happened to me after eating at the Denny's in Lakewood. This was 12 years ago, though. Still won't step foot in that place. The shitty thing about it, other than constantly shitting, was that my girlfried had flown in from out of town for the weekend. So, instead of hiking around Mt. Rainer and going to do tourist stuff in Seattle, she got to hang around and listen to me puke in a garbage can and shit at the same time.....all weekend long.

Wife and I were in Reno and had a meal in a nice Casino Restaurant. Hooked up the trailer and drove to Mt Lassen. I spent three days in the travel trailer doing the same thing. Nasty part? My wife spent three days doing likewise at the next campground we stopped in. So much for that trip along the OR/WA Coast. Getting "poisoned" at a restaurant is a lot like pissing on an electric fence. A mistake you never want to make again.

I got food poisoning down in Olympia back when I lived there. At one of the nicest (supposedly) seafood places in town (name escapes me now, don't think it's still around). Ate with a friend, I had seafood jambalaya, he (wisely) had something else. Get home around 11pm or so, feel fine & go to bed. Get up the next morning, not feeling so good anymore but shrugged it off as one too many beers and went to work. Got to work and definitely didn't feel so good any more, turned around and went home. Spent the next three days within about 5' of a toilet, with buckets handy. Called the Thurston county health department, the lady I spoke to (who coincidentally was on my volleyball team and married to one of the cops I worked with) said that I was about the 9th or 10th complainant about that restaurant.
Hope you're feeling better, it's got to be one of the nastiest things that can happen to someone.

I got food poisoning at New World Disco Chinese Restaurant in Ballard years ago, thought I was going to die. Narrowed it down to BBQ pork as that was the only thing my friends didn't share with me. Called the health department and they shut them down for a week or so. No telling what kind of nastiness was going on back in the kitchen.
Like everyone else, never been back again.

Feeling any better? Did you buy enough Pepto Bismol to make the parent company stock price rise?

Like everyone else, never been back again. NEVER look in the kitchen of a Chinese Restaurant if you ever want to eat Chinese Food again. My sister lived for two years in Hong Kong. On their first outing to a local restaurant a friend told her "If you like what you're eating, definitely DO NOT ask what it is. Usually you're OK as everything is cooked pretty hot. Stay away from Chinese Buffets. No way of knowing how many days that stuff has been there.

Lead engineer for a client of mine spent 3 years in China on a heavy metal clean up project. I asked him how the food was in China? His face turned pale and said "It's all rats, snakes, and shit. You never ask what's in it."
