It's great for the cardiovascular system, especially when you use a couple sprays of lidocaine

Most are incredibly expensive, maybe even deadly too.

Chicken cacciatore right now in the pot.

Freezing 20 pounds of fresh blueberries unrelated to the above while watching the rest of "Shooter"

Homemade chili powder from dried roasted chile peppers and other spices ground up in a spice grinder.

Chili con Carne cooking in the pot now. Used 4.5 pounds of chuck roast, a whole pack of bacon, and fresh chile peppers from the garden (red-ripened habanero, serranos, and banana peppers), among other things. Simmering on the range for the next couple hours.

Not exactly 'cooking', I guess. But... Kefir!

I was given some kefir 'grains', by a friend.

Called 'grains' because of their appearance, not because any sort of grain actually has anything to do with it.

First couple of times, I tried making kefir with 1% milk, because that is all I had.

Turns out ok.

Separates into kurds and whey, pretty quickly. Less than 24 hours. Because it is only 1%.

But yeah, after separating out the grains, shake it up, to mix the kurds and whey back up again, and it tastes about the way it should. Maybe a bit sour. but some of us like that. LOL

Last time, I used whole milk.

As an experiment, I left it out for 4 days straight.

Tried it... Tastes like sour cream! Love it! NO separation into kurds and whey. It's just creamy.

Separated the grains, then I added some peppermint mocha non-dairy creamer for taste. Shook it up to mix. And set it in the fridge overnight.

Here's where it gets weird.

Drank it the next morning... Tastes like lemon pudding.

WHA???

Just how does peppermint mocha creamer, plus whole milk kefir, end up tasting like lemon pudding???

It was great, though!

This is scrambled eggs. In the egg is, a big little smokie onion and yakisoba sauce. On top is cilantro, kewpie mayo, more yakisoba sauce, rooster and bonito. The key is to basically just temper the egg very slowly and stir constantly, that way it comes out more custardy vs the big dry chunks that we are used to. This shit at 11 at night was bomb as hell. Totino's? Those are some good eats. Also really used to enjoy the Chun King mini egg rolls though haven't seen them for a long time now.
