I thought there was some talk of the burger place, In-N-Out but my search didn't come up with anything.
So, I'll ask here.
Is it worth going to? Just a name? Prices? Over hyped?
Never been to one.
Fill me in.

Coming to Idaho shortly. *about ten miles from me*

In-N-Out has not officially announced their grand opening date, but The Village at Meridian said it anticipates it happening within the next two-to-three weeks, according to a news release.

I don't want to steer you wrong, but I have to say, in my opinion, there's nothing like it. In-N-Out is my first meal & last meal every time I fly to California. Whether it's an already existing burger joint or a local favorite, I always compare their bugers to In-N-Out and there is no comparison. The Mr's and I always talk about taking a road trip to the one in Keizer, Oregon which is this closest to us, near Salem

It's a love it or hate it type thing. Definitely worth trying once in your life to make the judgment. I grew up on it, so its comfort food for me.

If you go, I would suggest a double double with cheese. Animal style fries. and a shake of your flavor choice (vanilla for me).

Also, RAD!!!! Id say its worth the trip when you combine it with a visit to Independence range there. Love that place. Took my girlfriend and my little brother to pop thier full auto cherries. Great spot.

I've only had it a few times. Good burger, bad fries. Dressing up the fries animal style helps, but cannot hide the fact that they're styrofoam.

That's funny.
Really, in all my years, the only fries I've really liked have been from Dick's Drive Inn.

When I was a construction surveyor down in southern CA, we used to eat there about once or twice a week. It was a cheap, good meal, and if there were any around here, I'd make the trip to go. Also, they had inexpensive, but well made, white T-shirts, which were perfect for working in the sun. I probably had close to a dozen of them in various stages of wear before I moved up here. 5 Guys reminds me of them a bit, and so does Dick's.

The fries definitely suck. I only get the hamburgers as the cheese isn't very good.

They don't salt the fries.

The burgers taste like any other hamburger stand burger. No better or worse than Dicks to Big Toms or anything like that. I prefer burgers that are thicker than cardboard and don't drip with chopped iceberg lettuce and 1000 Island.

In one end and out the other...

I have several shirts, but have never eaten the food.

This. I grew up eating Double-Doubles and Dick’s is a close second. People I know, who grew up here in Washington, In-N-Out is a close second to Dick’s for them.

Tried it once down in Cali. Reminded me of Dicks with a different flavor profile. I got the feeling if you’d grown up with it , you’d like it. Otherwise it’s just a so so burger joint with a big name.

Overrated. Been all over the world and US, and there are better burger places out there than this cult following.

Wife and I grew up in SoCal. She loves the place, I could never eat there again and not miss it. Burgers are ok. I can't stand 1000 island on a burger, and without it the meat is bland, needs more salt at a minimum. Speaking of bland, others have already dissed the fries and I'm +100 on that. Props to them for starting with fresh whole potatoes, processed immediately before cooking = off to a great start. Can't figure out why they make them turn out so limp and bland. Totally a missed opportunity to do something WAY better. My favorite local fries is probably Wally's Drive In in Buckley, and I-n-O is about the polar opposite, if that helps.
