Toying with ideas for trying to make some chili lime/margarita style ribs. Rub recipes are easy enough but what would you guys recommend using for wood?

Apple wood would be ideal. Maybe alder as its not strong . Cherry would put a zing to it. If ya can straight cotton wood.

These guys are on point...if you want the nuanced flavors of chili-lime to come through, you need a wood that's not to heavy in either taste or smoke.

OR....you can go the opposite way and do strong smoke flavors like hickory or mesquite. Personally I like the good old mild, mellow apple, but mesquite works well when you want something bold.

Oak, hickory, or misquote if you keep it light
